Itinerary description
Shortish loop towards and through Leersumseveld that starts from a quiet carpark (tip!) with info panel, at the end of a dead end street (Burg. v.d. Boschstraat / Tombelaan) practically next to the Nellesteyn tower/monument/tomb and a cemetery.
The walk crosses the woods just north of Leersum, then reaches Leersumseveld with its fens, circles through that open, extensive moor area and returns via the new Breeveen storm path to the carpark. On the way it also passes the new Wolvengat, designed to be a play area.
August is particularly attractive for this walk because of the blooming heather fields. However, this shortish loop is interesting at any time of the year.
