Itinerary description
To get to the castle you park your car on a large free carpark, on a by road along N 279, indicated as Natuurpoort. From there you walk to the castle, through a historic gate.
This trail starts in front of the castle and returns to the carpark.
After a visit to the magnificent, medieval Heeswijk castle it seemed a good idea to go for a short walk in the estate and along the neighbouring Aa valley.
The general idea was picked up from a Dutch site, Klik Print en Wandel, which also shares gps tracks.
To get an idea of the surroundings you can have a look at the photos here. By climbing the stairs of the viewing platform called Heeskijk (see photo) you get an even better idea.
Do keep in mind that part of the track runs parallel to a busy road, so expect some traffic noise. Check out the trail on the map here.
