Itinerary description
Hiking from MakroPrespa to MikroPrespa along the European Green Belt. The European Green Belt follows the route of the former Iron Curtain and connects protected areas as well as non-protected valuable habitats along the (former) borders. Follow this trail to experience an amazing beauty of nature. The trail starts from the village Zaroshka (Zernosko) from where you follow the cycling trail (trail number 9 on the Prespa National Park Hiking map). You asecnd to the high plateau, approaching the Albanian- Greek border to arrive to the small village Cerje. From there the trail leads you to Rakicke village. soon after you will have a great view.on MikroPrespa lake. You reach Shuec village as final point, or you yet may continue on the asphalted road to the cave of Treni (another 4 km).
