ESTIG - Beginning
The Polytechnical Institute of Beja, established in 1979 is a state-run polytechnic institute of higher education, comprising several schools, one of which is ESTIG, the Higher School of Technology and Management. The building's modern architecture sets it apart from the rest of the campus.

Beja Castle
Beja Castle, rebuilt by King D. Dinis in 1310, as part of the royal policy of reinforcing the defense of the national territory. The most significant element is the Tower, the symbol of the city of Beja, with its battlements and balcony all around. The top is reached by a spiral staircase with 183 steps and from the top you have one of the best views over the city and the region.

This viewpoint is located in the heart of the historic center of Beja, containing a reconstructed Roman arch and access to a viewpoint over the city and fields to the border with Spain. It is a beautiful place for watching sunsets.

Memorial to Jorge Vieira (Point of Interest)
The Symbol, also known as the Memorial to Jorge Vieira, was designed in 1964, within the scope of the architect's project Conceição Silva, for the plastic valorization competition of northern mooring mass of the bridge over the Tagus. It is a sculpture, in bronze, 6 meters high, made up of two intertwined tricorn shapes, one that clings to the ground, another that rises into the air and which, according to the descriptive memory of the initial project, represents the union between the two banks of the Tagus. This sculpture became the Memorial to Jorge Vieira, for initiative of the Beja City Council, which installed it in the city in a gesture of homage to the sculptor.

Santo André Hermitage (Point of Interest)
From the end of the 15th century, it is a building that is part of the Gothic-Mudejar construction tradition. It is a type of construction that finds some parallels in the Alentejo region , consisting of small temples, built outside the village walls. According to local tradition it was founded by D. Sancho I in 1162, to commemorate the hypothetical conquest of the city from the Moors. Of low volume, all the external walls of the hermitage are marked by twelve cylindrical buttresses topped by conical spiers. The apse is also crowned by chamfered battlements, and zoomorphic gargoyles can also be seen.

Portas de Moura (Point of Interest)
The Portas de Moura are an example of the city's history and heritage. The gate is surmounted by a typical image of Christian heraldry - the Paschal Lamb associated with St. John the Baptist - spiritual protector of the door.
