Itinerary description
From the main road of the village, we drive (B) north to the ring road of the village near "Chorostasi". From this point we begin our journey through the beautiful path that crosses the forest of Kato Olympus. After the downhill slopes turn right, on the left side, with great care, we observe the beginning of the path that we must follow. This path has not been thoroughly cleaned in recent years, resulting in difficult points that are not in good condition, despite the minimal movement of animals and humans. We walk in the north direction, roughly 45 minutes to the bridge in the big stream "Hadakia".
After the stream, we are walking east to the stream and driving a little higher into a cavity formed as the continuation of the trail. In about half an hour from here we will meet a rocky clearing and we will go up to the forested area of “Karagianni” ridge. It is necessary to be careful because the path is not clear and moves in a dense forest, but with signs of a few large oaks that we meet. Moving forward we reach the neck, which we cross north, to the "Karagianni" fountain. Twenty minutes from the tap, we will meet the forest road that connects “Aegani” with :Kallipefki”, which we follow to the north. After the road turns right, at about thirty meters, the path continues on the right side of the road that takes us down to the stream of “Aegani”. From there, after passing through a plain, we follow the path in the north direction.
After a while, we will meet another forest road, which we follow northeasternly, we need to know that this is the main dirt road that leads to Old Resources. In about three hundred meters, we turn west to make it easier to reach the churches of the beautiful area of the “Holy Apostles”. Here we can make a stop for relaxation and there is a chance to find water in the existing faucet, which, however, is drying up during the summer months.
Starting from this point in the north direction, walking on another smaller unpaved road leads us back to the main unpaved road that we have mentioned above, cross it and immediately across from another junction with an indicative sign "Prophet Elias". Following the dirt road that actually leads to the chapel of “Prophet Elias”, at 200 meters we need to turn north to follow the vague path to our destination. Eventually we reach a forest road where there is the village water tank. A little further down the north-eastern (NE) direction we are again entering the path that leads us to the first houses of the village of “Old Poreos” or the old name "Pourlia".
