Itinerary description
A relatively gentle multi-day walk, suitable for any walker. All stays are in villages - no camping/cooking equipment required.
Approach is from Volos - either fly there (very few flights: http://www.thessalyairport.gr/el/ptiseis.html) OR take a 4-5 hour bus or train from Athens OR a 2-3 hour bus from Thessaloniki: http://ktelvolou.gr/en/routes/map/&map=greece
Infrequent local buses go from Volos main bus station to many Pelion villages (2-5 per day): http://ktelvolou.gr/en/routes/map/&map=magnesia
Day 1 - a gentle climb from Makrinitsa to Chania on top of the main Pelion ridge.
Day 2 - a gentle descend south-east from Chania via the ski resort (green in summer).
Day 3 - level walk to Milies.
Day 4 - level walk to Tsagarada, crossing the main ridge.
Day 5 - loop walk down to the beach and back up to Tsagarada.
Day 6 - down to another beach (optional), and back up to Kissos.
Day 7 - ascend from Kissos to Chania.
Day 8 - from Chania to Makrinitsa via a different path (not related to day 1).
These 8 days create a continuous walk with no need of transport. But you can start in any village, skip any parts using an infrequent bus of a taxi, and finish in any village you like.
