Excellent walk with an initial stiff climb up Steel Fell then undulating throughout. Great views of Northern Fells and Thirlmere from Steel Fell, uf your lucky the RAF will fly a few planes below you up Dunmail Raise. Some boggy ground before Calf Crag but standard character building stuff. Lovely airy walk from Calf Crag to Helm Crag.
