Itinerary description
Source: https://www.hikr.org/tour/post145975.htmlOn the way to the Col de Fenestral , I pass around 15 hikers. Busy activity in and around the Cabane de Fenestral
From the pass I take the blue and white marked route. Immediately after the cross a delicate slope crossing. Marl and clay limestones, the track is a foot wide and not always flat. After about 500 meters I reach the Grand Cor without any vegetation. The route is well marked and leads me easily through the pebbly limestone landscape. I reach the first climbing point on an increasingly steep scree slope. Good tiered and crevices to hold - no chains or fixed ropes. Now over a wide ledge to the next obstacle, a 6 meter high boulder with a gap. In this I climb up and get to the flat roof of the rock. Continue over crevices to a closed channel filled with boulders that can be mastered upright without climbing. Now follows a snow-filled crevice with a crack on the valley side. On the far left the snow is flush with the rock. Get in here and cross in the middle of the 20 meter wide ice / snow field. Finally limestone gravel to the summit cross of the Dent de Morcles .
All-round visibility. The fog reaches up to about 1800 meters and is full of holes. The Lake Geneva is good to see. South of the Mont Blanc cloudless.
The descent: The climbing areas feel better from above, probably because I know what to expect. The same route to the Euloi plain . Since I still have time, I make a detour via La Forcle and the Alp Pré de Bougnonne to Jorasse. The landscape is as beautiful as the uppermost pines - but you have to hide the ski lifts.
