Itinerary description
Starting and finishing at the Visitor's Centre this walk follows the trail around Grand Etang lake. There's no big hills to climb but the trail does undulate through the forest around the lake. Note the trail can be exceptionally wet and muddy, particularly during rainy season (June - December roughly) and the bridges and logs placed so that you can cross streams or very muddy areas have all disintegrated so even this short and fun circuit could be very challenging. At the end of the circuit once you meet the road cross straight over, climb the steps and turn left to the look out point. It's only a couple of minutes climb and you get incredible views.

Feb 2023, streams easy to cross as almost dry and logs placed to balance across but track very muddy balancing on slippery roots. Hike probably not worth the effort.
