Itinerary description
This is a repeat of another trail I have already uploaded. The only difference is with this hike I started at Celije Monastery, instead of at the top of the stairs leading down to the monastery. This is a good option if you want to avoid the downward slope.
Gradac Gorge is a beautiful place and this is a hike you need to do in summer, on a hot day, and not immediately during/after a lot of rain.
You will walk through the river for a long stretch - so if you go at the wrong time the river will either be too cold or too high. There are some spots where you can swim as well.
Once you're in the Gorge, you can make the hike even shorter by going straight to the trout restaurant (I didn't put a flag/marker, sorry, but it is obvious), crossing the bridge and turning left behind the restaurant. If you just doing that section to the end, you can turn around and make it an easy return hike.
Take footwear that can be immersed in water and has good grip.
Enjoy!

Hello, we are planning this trek for the next weekend. Could you please tell me if the 10 km distance is for a round trip or just one way? Thank you in advance, we are taking children with us, so it makes a difference if it is 10 or 20 km.
Hello Kapetan Virvel - you can see from the map the green icon is where I started and the red is where I ended (it is a point to point walk, not a circuit) - so that entire route as recorded is the 10km distance. If you want to do a shorter distance, then start at the green icon, go direct to the red (don't do the bit of my trail that goes upstream), and then back again. Keep in mind also that the water level may be a factor with children. Water is generally higher in spring or the beginning of summer and gets lower as the warm months continue - so it is lower around early September. If the water is too high, do the upstream section instead - it's still very pretty but all the walking is along the shore, not in the water.
Thanks a lot!
And if it can be of any assistance, Belgrade Foreign Visitors Club will be doing this hike with a group of people (probably some children, too), this coming Saturday 01.06.
Thank you Alex!
