Itinerary description
The second stage up to the halfway point of the GR10
Covering the high sections and impressive high pyreneese..
As before the trail is very well marked and good to follow..but gpx or simmilar on phone to have as back up, a few places unclear.
The vertigo section mentioned in many books at the Corniche des Alhas is realy not bad at all and a hand hold is in place..still be careful if wet.
I made a few diversions.
The first i took the Tour du val d,Azun when leaving Arrens -Marsous, as a more scenic high route..for me i was a little tired as i had walked from Gourette and heading to Estaing in one day.
Also i climbed the Petit Vignemale (3023mts) as the weather was fantastic ..bit of a scrabble in places, some people were leaving their rucksacks at the bottom to make the climb easier.
Some of the days i walked for 10 hrs in a day and made double stages to what the books mention, only as i was with a tent and carried supplies..tough going at times but worth it .
