Itinerary description
(Description below in English, waypoints are described in Spanish)
This route is the first part of a 10 day hiking trip through the Madrid province, from East to West following GR-10.
The first day starts at the border with Guadalajara, at Pontón de la Oliva. The route passes through the beautiful village of Patones de Arriba. From there one, the GR-10 coincides with GR-300 and Senda Genaro. It leads us through 10kms of wild nature up and downhill to the town El Berrueco.
In between we did a short detour to the watchtower ‘Atalaya de Torrepedrera’ which offers magnificent views over the surroundings.
This track leads you 4 km further to Sieteiglesias, where I stayed for the night before continuing the GR-10 towards Bustarviejo.
My favourite parts of today: the wild trail between Patones de Arriba and the pass towards El Berrueco, and the Atalaya de Torrepedrera.
