Itinerary description

A splendid and suggestive itinerary which, from the impervious fortress of Punta Salinas, allows a spectacular panoramic view of Cala Goloritzé, the Aguglia di Goloritzè and part of the northern coast of the Gulf of Orosei.
It is a path on rocky ground, with a partly stony path and crossed by streams; up to the summit and down through the scree gully into the Bacu Canale, above exposed points. Stepping sureness is required.

From Su Porteddu Take the obvious path that goes up the steep ridge and leads, after about 30', to a wide and panoramic saddle (462 m) which overlooks the Bacu Goloritzé. Now turn right, in the direction of Monticlu (645 m), along the bottom of Bacu Canale, the upper part of Bacu Goloritzé, and you will soon reach the ruins of an ancient sheepfold. After passing this sheepfold, going up the ridge, take the obvious path halfway up the slope that winds along the 500 m level curve. After about 40' of walking from the saddle, you reach a large and suggestive panoramic terrace where, going down on the opposite side to a gravel clearing, lies the Cuile Erbidozzili (625 m). Leave the enclosure and fenced stables of this farm on the left and proceed downhill through the scrub until you reach a carriage road which you follow to the left towards the sea. You arrive at a branch of paths, where you follow the road to the right for 10 minutes up to a lay-by. Here a beaten track leads sharply to the left. Follow the latter in a NW direction until you come across the remains of an ancient sheepfold on a large plateau: this is the coile Su Runcu 'e Su Pressu, (also known as coile Pilighittu), consisting of a beautiful hut, still intact , and a goat enclosure which, unfortunately, is no longer in good condition. After a brief visit to this site, proceed, always in a NW direction, towards the impervious fortress of Punta Salinas, which can now be seen not far away. You walk along a little visible path which, at times, comes out of the thick juniper forest to wind along steep but always safe slopes. After about 40', you reach the summit of Punta Salinas, below which, on a panoramic terrace, you can admire Cala Goloritzè and the spectacular Aguglia.

Going back, you then come to a path that branches off to the right and winds through steep downhill hairpin bends, inside a stony ground. You reach Bacu Linnalbu, a tributary of Bacu Goloritzé, where you take a comfortable mule track that quickly reaches the confluence with Bacu Goloritzé. Then take the mule track downhill among huge holm oaks, until you reach Cala Goloritzé.

To return, as on the recorded trail, follow the beautiful main path of the Bacu Goloritzé which takes you back to the Su Porteddu.
