Itinerary description

A moderate hike from the parking lot at West Canyon Trail up to the Alder Flats campsite, about half the distance, but less than a quarter of the elevation, to the peaks of the Golden Ears range. Some nice gradual trail walking on wide paths are punctuated with scrambles up steep and gnarly sections.

Not much space to stand while enjoying the view. A platform here would be nice. At this point, the worst of the rough scramble along the trail is behind you.

While the crossing (with no water in the river) was easy, a bridge here someday might be nice.

And check out the helicopter landing pad adjacent, NOT to be confused with a tent platform. There are no tent platforms here, and the tent sites could be muddy in the rain. There is during dry times also no water at or near the campsite.
