Itinerary description
The Gold Strike Hot Springs Trail might be one of the coolest hikes Nevada has to offer. If you like a challenging hike with a stunning and changing scenery, some jumping, bouldering and climbing - this is your trail to go.
The trail starts at the last exit of highway 93 before Hoover Dam, approximately 1 hour away from Las Vegas. When you exit, instead of going to the dam to the left, just turn right and in less than a minute you will find some space for parking. The trail is easy to find, even though it is not marked, but the surrounding with high-rising rocks will guide you. As stated before, there is some jumping and climbing necessary, so an average to good fitness is necessary. Ropes are available on the most difficult sections.
The hike leads down until you reach Colorado river, where you can refresh yourself and see the stunning Canyon. Be aware that the way back (and up) is far more challenging and make sure to enough enough (and a lot) sunscreen and water. The trail is closed in the summer months due to the hot weather.

Please ignore the amount of accumulated meters in altitude (1167 meters), Runtastic is not tracking it correctly.
