The summer only inhabited Gola Island is an outstanding visit into nature. With a daily ferry running from Gweedore, Gola is very accessible island day trip. Gola is one of the best rock climbing venues in Ireland, http://uniqueascent.ie/gola_island_guide.
The best way to see Gola on a relaxed day trip trek around the island, follow the "Gola Highway" north. At the end of the trail follow the coast anti clockwise back to the village.
