Itinerary description
From the start you cross the bridge across the Wupper and walk through Glüder to a forest path taking you back to the Wupper. You follow the path along the river to the Wupperbridge at Strohn. Here you take a forest path along the Bertramsmühler Bach. Near the Petersmühle you need to cross the brook via a ford (if you want to avoid that it is better to take the forest road on the east side of the brook from the Wupperbridge at Strohn), no problem if you have waterproof hiking boots. From the Petermühle you climb further on a paved forest road until you get to a view across the valley of the Bertramsmühler Bach. From here you follow paths to the Burger Landstrasse. You cross the road, and descend through meadows to the woods and descend further all the way to Wiesenkotten at the Wupper. You cross the river on a pedestrian bridge and then follow the minor paved road Müngstener Strasse to Unterburg, along the Wupper. In Unterburg you make a small detour along the Evangelische Kirche. When you get to the main road (L407) you need to turn right across the bridge to get to the vintage chairlift, but we took the Schlossbergstrasse instead, straight on. This minor road rises steeply out of the valley. You then take a winding path, the Burgstiege to Burg. Here you take a look at the castle, which was covered in scaffolding during our trip. There is an entrance fee if you want to go in. Via the Schlossplatz you go below a gate and leave the Burg. You follow paths through the woods via the valley of the Burgsiefen until you get to a viewpoint near the Kriegerdenkmal. There is a tower here too. You keep following the forest path to Angerscheid where you follow the minor road through the village to Höhrath, and then descend on the Höhrather Weg, a partly paved forest road. You descend from the Höhrather Weg to the Sengbachtalsperre, the reservoir dam of the Sengbach. After having taken a look, you take a forest road back to the Höhrather Weg to Strohnerhöh, and then descend through the woods back to Glüder.
