Itinerary description
Queen Elizabeth II is causing me grief. It is a substantial provincial park (non-operating) with numerous trails but I'm having a difficult time accessing and enjoying them. This was my second choice for the day (after being rejected just east of Sadowa) and for the most part it was a hike down a dirt road (it dead ends, so no traffic at all).
The road runs along side of or just north of the Black River and at kilometer 4.6 I took a right turn onto a one lane path that was badly rutted and could not be driven. The bug intensity increased but at the end (about 0.5 km) I was rewarded with an impressive camp site beside a small set of twin falls. Complete with picnic table, several nice spots for a tent, a small sandy beach and some nice rock perches from which to view the river and the falls.
The return trip retraced my steps to the start/finish where there was a spot to park my car.
