Itinerary description
Walk to a swimming spot confusingly called Blue Eyes. But this is part of a large lake called Liqeni i viroit. We wore tevas but shoes would be better.
First you are walking downhill out of the town and then you join a track that passes through some ruins that look like army barracks.
Then the trail is well marked with blue and yellow stripes painted on rocks (note - we went slightly the wrong way and had to double back at one point. Also we accodentally forgot to stop recording so the ladt bit is us faffing around trying to find a place to swim!)
Saw a large snakes, various shepherds and their sheep, through a forest and then you can glimpse the lake.
We struggled to find a safe place to swim. The "blue eye" is near the ruined scuba diving building. Apparently a polish team dived here and the lake is 210 metres deep. We bathed in a place beyond a fence - we climbed over and the water is very cold!
Qe walked the same route home but maybe we could have hitch hiked along the road.
