Itinerary description
This walk combines the Gialia Nature Trail with a diversion that takes you to the Panagia Chrysogialiotissa monastery ruins, adding an extra three miles to the standard five-mile route.
The trail follows forest roads and wooded paths, and there is a short stage on very quiet tarmac roads at the end.
There is plenty of shade on this route, and except for the first half a mile, isn’t too hilly. However, there is no drinkable water so be prepared.
There are plenty of benches and places to stop if you need a rest, and some stunning views. The monastery is also very interesting.
