Itinerary description
A lovely walk around the Gialia Forest area.
This walk had it all - amazing views, forest roads, mountain trails, steep ascents, switchbacks, rivers to follow and cross, and some interesting archeological ruins too. You may also see some goats.
There is no food and limited water available on this route so come prepared. It’s quite rough underfoot so good shoes/boots are recommended.
NOTE: I strongly suggest doing this route in the same direction I did. The climb at roughly the halfway point is hard, but would make for a dangerous descent.

A very nice route through Paphos Forest. Mostly wide tracks and easy to follow. Be warned though the hills at the mid point are very steep and the ground quite loose. We had sticks that we really needed to help get us up. Agree with the author this would be very difficult to go down so follow the route in the direction shown. The walk is 70% without shade also so prepare appropriately in the summertime. Overall we loved it. Beautiful scenery, ancient ruins, wildlife and mostly easy with an exciting challenge in the middle!
