Itinerary description
The stage begins with a highlight: The Drachenfels is certainly the most prominent rock of the "Siebengebirge" (7 mountains) with breathtaking views of the surrounding area incl. the city of Bonn, the river Rhein and - during good visibility - the famous cathedral of Cologne.
For the lazy ones: The ascent to the Drachenfels (321 m) can also be made with the Dachenfelsbahn, Germany's oldest operating rack railroad. After the Drachenfels it's an up and down with the forest offering protection from the sun.
Starting point is the tramway station "Königswinter - Clemens-August-Str." (line 66). The trail ends at the rail station "Bad Honnef", part of the Deutsche Bahn network. The tramway station "Bad Honnef" is another 400 m northwest and is connected with the starting point "Königswinter - Clemens-August-Str." (line 66).
