Itinerary description
With more than 23 kilometers, the "Heideweg" (heathland trail) leads you first to the lake Leyenweiher and then at the edge of the forest to the center of the town of Lohmar, where the lively Agger River crosses the route. The first parking lot you are going to come across (at 3,64 km) is also where the entrance to the Wahner Heide nature reserve begins. After Lohmar you will walk deep into the quiet forest.
If you are coming with your own 4 wheels (or 2) you can start at one of the 2 parking lots (at 3,64 km or 13,37 km, free of charge) or park your vehicle in the town of Lohmar or Troisdorf.
By public transport one starting point might be the bus stop "Aggerbrücke", the beginning/ending of this trail. Frequent busses from the railway station Siegburg to Aggerbrücke.
