Itinerary description
Starting at rail station Herchen this is an easy but long tour with numerous highlights and sights. It's the 7th stage of "Siegsteig" (trail along the river Sieg) and somewhat more strenuous than its predecessors, especially because of its length (>28 km). The trail is well marked: follow the blue sign (pic #3), not the white rabbit.
Hiking is up and down, through forests and with views of the river Sieg. The remains of Windeck Castle are a major highlight. The trail includes half of the eighth stage of "Siegsteig" and finishes at Eulenhof - a fantastic pension in an old farm house, where you can stay overnight.
