Itinerary description
This hike took place mainly on blazed trails, but at times we did do some "wilderness wandering"! If you attempt to follow our tracks, you might find yourself in the woods at times, jumping from trail to trail. If your just into trails, there are some wonderful trails in this section of the state park - they are well blazed. Some lead right out of the park, so be aware of that. A GPS is a great tool to have out there. We parked at the main parking area for the pond/beach. During the week it was pretty quiet, but I'm assuming on weekends it is a very busy spot. If you want some nice hikes, this is the place to be! Most all the trails are pretty easy, with some having hills marked as steep. You will cross a brook a few times, bridges are provided. I'm not sure about hunting in the area, so check that if going into the area during a hunting season - always border on the side of caution and wear bright orange during the winter season. If you want some GPS and hiking information, take a look at my website www.tomchoma.com - happy trails to all!
