Itinerary description
We make our way down through the cork forest and on through a varied terrain with enjoyable views and interesting countryside. It iss mostly a downhill route, which is not steep but there are a couple of uphill sections (one in the middle section and one towards the end) which should get the heart pumping.
We start at 650ish meters and end at 400ish. In places the ground underfoot is rutted and combined with the gradient, could pose a challenge for the less sure footed (particularly after rain).
As we crown El Puerto de Las Eras, we can see the village of Cortes de La Frontera and the Sierra de Libar in the distance. As we reach our destination we cross a wide river (this time via a bridge) and follow the paved road for some 3 kms into the village.
