Itinerary description
A really nice circular route, mostly on forest tracks with some smaller paths. I saw a large group of jabalí (wild boar) near the Carboneras stream. (no water in the streambed in May but lots of lovely pink oleander in bloom).
Down Las Palas (Town Hall Route V/Camino de Cortes), go straight across the track and pick up the Camino de Cortes again; go down to the Carboneras ford. Up the track to the black pigs farm and a short way past the farm buildings, just after a little bridge, turn left by a wigwam tree. Pick up a lovely forest track and follow it until you rejoin the El Peso track on the Benarraba side (Camino de las Martinas/Camino Salta del Cura); which climbs at a nice steady gradient back to Gaucin. Then I went on Camino de Umbria (Town Hall Route VI) back to Gaucin village.
Thank you to Matthew Wolfman for alerting me to the alternate Tajo de Becerril track.
