Itinerary description
The way starts down through the cork forest and on through a varied terrain with enjoyable views and interesting countryside. There are a few rivers to cross. It is a (generally) downhill route, which is not steep but there are a couple of uphill sections.
At about halfway, we first went the wrong way to the right. Don’t follow this part of the trail. But go as instructed to the left.
In places the ground underfoot is rutted and muddy and combined with the gradient, could pose a challenge for the less sure footed (particularly after rain).
Getting to Estación de Cortes there is a wide river via a bridge and then we follow the paved road for some 3 kms into the village.
In Estación de Cortes there are a couple of bars.
