Itinerary description
Starting at the train station Roma Ostiense. A short walk north gets me to the Cesto Piramide, which has been built into the old Roman city wall. Very impressive! A few hundred meters to the west, alongside the wall, gets me to the (English) war cemetary, very neat, with a few hundred fallen in WW 2 in Italy. On the other side is the historical Non-Catholic Cemetary, a real jewel. Very helpful volonteers answer questions, the oftentimes splendid tombs of famous and not so famous people line up: a son of Goethe, Camilleri, Gramsci, son of Norman Rockwell.
