Itinerary description
The track down to the top of the falls is not as pretty as Mt Cordeaux or Mt Mitchell nearby but I had the place to myself on a busy Sunday at Cunningams Gap. It is an easy zig zag all the way down (return the same way) although a little overgrown in places. I had heard about a rock pool upstream from the top of the falls. No track upstream so I crashed through head high weeds then rock hopping for a few hundred metres and was rewarded with this delightful place.
Coming back I clambered up a very steep slope from just near the rock pool to join the track for the return rather than beat my way again through the foliage. I would do that again.
You can avoid the high weeds on the bank if you don't mind some shallow wading
