Itinerary description
Gaochang
Ancient City Ruins Hike.
You have option of taking a shuttle or just walk. WE took a shuttle first which was disaster. The driver blast very loud recording through the speakers that explains the city history. Asking to lower the noise down didn't work as there is no noise control in the car. Car didn't stop at any of sights until the very last spot near the exit.
In order to see the sights i ventured back into the city for a hike along the main paved route.
There are several timber loops added along the main path which you can also take and read descriptions placed along those paths.
All in all it was a very pleasant hike. During my 6km walk i only encountered 3 electric buggies full of tourists that passed by. other than that i was alone in the city. The permitter of the wall is 5km, the inner loop hike is slightly less.
