Itinerary description
We park at Reichenbach bei Oberstdorf, then follow the river trail to the Gaisalpe (open only from mid-Spring to end of Summer) and enjoy the creek and its spectacular waterfalls. After a short break at the Gaisalpe (make sure to try their cakes!), we follow the main trail to the Lower Gaisalpsee. This early in May the melting snowfields start precisely at the lake, so we elect not to push the hike to the Rubihorn. The weather is perfect for a lakeside nap, anyways! :)
