Itinerary description
The hike starts at the parking place on the west side of Héðinsfjörður, just in front of the tunnel. It goes diagonally up to the dent in the mountain that was probably formed by a landslide from the mountain between peak Pallahnjúkur and Fýlaskálarhnjúkur. The mountain slope is rather short and steep. The hike offers a great view to the north, with Grímsey island decorating the horizon and to the spectacular mountains on the east side of Héðinsfjörður.
