Itinerary description

Rough hike. Dropped off the side of Ft Mountain, off trail. Basically followed Gold Mine Creek down to an old forest service road which runs by most of the remains. The trail back up to the Park was fortunately one we had been on before. Unfortunately however it is a mean slope with a steep steep grade, up to 39 degrees at points. This is a very strenuous hike, you have been warned. While climbing out on the trail keep an eye out for 2 abandoned talc mines to the right.

From just below the park, the creek is a constant set of falls, one after another.

If you are going to descend using this trail, do it during the winter so you don't have to deal with all the foliage and undergrowth. There are a lot of briers so dress appropriately. Heed to warning about the trail back -- the incline is intense and it never lets up.
