Itinerary description
Beautiful easy paced hiking trek with ascent to Kaçkar peak in the middle. Made it in begining of July 2021. The weather was mostly pleasant with occassional afternoon thunderstorms.
The starting point could be much lower but we had an excellent driver who saved us several hours of boring roadside walking. So for you to know: you can get up to our starting point on 4x4 or a Mercedes "Transporter" type of bus without problems.
Giving it "difficult" grade only for the Kaçkar peak ascent because of a rough trail and 3-4 meters of easy climbing.

Hello bro how are you .. just wondering.. did you go there by yourself or with a local guide from trabzon ?
Thanks in advance and i hope the trip was beautiful
Hey! The trip was wonderful!
We were a commercial group from Ukraine. Our guide did a scouting trek a week before the whole group started off.
Oh, forgot to mention that we had no local guide so I know nothing about them.
Alright .. thanks for the information
Another point .. you mentioned that you went on july .. but what was the max and min temperature throughout the trip ?
It's hard to tell exactly as no one took measurements, but in terms of clothing we wore anything between "shorts/t-shirt" and "long trousers/fleece jacket/optional windbreaker".
Thunderstorms with pouring rain are not rare - we had one in the afternoon and two in the mornings.
Oh great .. so its not that cold even in the summit ?
It might be very windy but in any case it was well above zero. For example, here's the video from the summit taken a week after our trek: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ST4aWiGg78c&t=833s
Very nice .. last question.. what about the telephone signal ? It was all the time off grid or there is signal ?
Sorry, I don't have a clear impression as I turned off cellular for the entire trek duration. There's definitely signal in the vicinity of Olgunlar village and even the wi-fi in the restaurant. And I can vaguely recall that other guys were using the phone ocassionally on the trek, but this is not reliable.
