If I don’t have a 4x4, what’s the best location to leave my car and start hiking ?

Climbing Mount Azhdahak in a single day is quite challenging due to its 40-45 km distance. If accessing the area by 4x4 vehicle is not an option, it's advisable to plan for at least a two-day hike. I recommend following one of two trail sequences.

The first is Shushan Rubenian's three consecutive trails:

    1. Geghard village to Vanki Lake
    2. Vanki Lake to Nalsar Mount (campsite)
    3. The classic route from Nalsar to Mount Azhdahak.

Alternatively, you could take the trail named 'ARMENIA - Azdahak and Akna Lich from Sevaberd', which also spans two days. The author of the latter is danidomingovitx.
