Itinerary description
A beautiful hike to two mountain lakes that starts from the bus station in Sportgastein following the signs to the Bockhartseenhuette. There are two options, either follow the longer gravel road up the hill or the shorter but much steeper and more strenuous path that we took. You have glorious views to Bad Gastein and the Hohen Tauern Mountains when you reach Bockhartseenhuette. The Unterer Bockhartsee comes into view. You follow the sign to Oberer Bockhartsee which is a lovely trail running along the larger lake. It’s absolutely stunning up there. Come back to same way, stop At Bockhartseenhuette for lunch or refreshments and then descent to Sportgastein. We took the gravel road down.
The whole hike was about 10km, and it took us 3.5 hours excluding lunch.
Ignore the last section of the recording, Wikiloc continued to record the bus ride down to Bad Gastein in error.

Difficult
Sterke stijging over trappen uit rots en boomwortels. Wij daalden af via het weggetje. Het wandelpad was heel glad in de regen. Mooie wandeling!
