Itinerary description
Hiking from Mutso to Atsunta Pass offers an incredible experience. The trail is superb! The terrain is quite easy, and suitable for trail running; it doesn't resemble typical mountainous terrain but rather provides a pleasant hiking path. Don't forget to bring your ID, as you'll need to obtain a permit from the border guards near "Cafe Shete" for Atsunta Pass, even if you plan to return on the same day.
A couple of notes:
Although we didn't reach the pass due to weather conditions and time constraints, I estimate that an additional 15 minutes are required to reach the pass and 5 minutes to return. Atsunta is a straightforward pass, not requiring any technical skills.
We didn't start the hike directly from Mutso because the trail was suitable for a car until the Khomistskali river crossing
