Itinerary description
This nice hike starts near the cemetery of Assergi, where you can park your car.
Then hike uphill on an easy trail to San Pietro della Lenca. During the hike you have panoramic views on the mountains of San Grasso national park.
Then arrive at San Pietro della Lenca. Pope John Paul II has visited this village several times in the 20th century. In the church there is a relic which contains a piece of gauze once soaked in the blood of this Pope.
On the way back to Assergi, the descent on the first part in the forest is at some places strenuous, so take care. After that, the path is nice and easy.
