Itinerary description
This is a fantastic trail that begins in Frigiliana. Beginning on country roads, it first goes to Acebuchal where it goes on to the Puerto Verde trail that follows the barranco up to the fire road. It heads right, back towards Acebuchal then turns left up an old road into the hills. It follows the road to the top of the hills, where there is a beautiful view and then turns away from the road, going right towards El Fuerte. The trail is clearly marked and gradually rises. When it gets to the base of El Fuerte, the path is narrow and step demanding scrambling, though the path is clearly marked with paint and/or carins. It is quite steep so those with a concern about heights be prepared. The views are spectacular as you carefully move towards the top which will get you to the easy trail to the top of El Fuerte. Well worth the effort!
