Itinerary description
A linear hike from the centre of Frigiliana to El Fuerte. One of the most accessible and beautiful peaks in the Sierras de Tejada y Almijarra. The walk, although steep in places, is very straightforward. The path is well defined and marked with red paint and 'hitos.' It's best avoided during the summer, there's no shade and/or water en route.
The hike starts just next to water reservoir on the outskirts of Frigiliana - the waypoint labelled 'Start and End' above. On the way back down I walked back into the centre of Frigiliana. You have to climb quite steeply, just after the reservoir and pass the castle (Castillo de Lizar) - eventually dropping back down into the village centre.
On a clear day, the views are unbeatable.
NB. There are parts of this track that I haven't 'cleaned' I went off the route in several places - as mentioned above, the path is linear and well marked - skip the deviations if you wish.
