Rifugio Garibaldi

Das burgähnliche Gebäude des Rifugio Garibaldi (2843 m) liegt von der Paßhöhe betrachtet (2758 m), genau 87 m über dem Joch. Die Hütte befindet sich an der Grenze zwischen der Provinz von Sondrio und der von Bozen (ehemaliges österreichisches Territorium) und nicht weit von dem Schweitzer Kanton Graubünden. Wenige Meter rechts des Gebäudes befindet sich der Grenzstein Nr. 1 (2843 m). Hier trafen bis zum ersten Weltkrieg drei Staaten und drei Sprachgebiete aufeinander. Dementsprechend hat der Berg auch drei Namen. Der deutsche Name &sbquo;Dreisprachenspitze’ unterstreicht das Zusammentreffen von 3 unterschiedlichen Sprachräumen: italienisch, ladinisch und deutsch. Von der Terrasse aus kann man die gewaltigen und mächtigen Gipfel des Ortler und Cevedalemassivs  mit dem Piz Bernina, den Weisskugel und den Piz Buin bewundern. Die Hütte ist mit Zimmern im rustikalen Stil, Bar, Restaurant mit typischer Küche (Reservierungen erwünscht) und Mountainbike-Depot für Biker ausgestattet. Historisch interessierte Spaziergänger und Wanderer können sich anhand von Schautafeln entlang gut markierter Wege über den Verlauf der Ortlerfront während des 1. Weltkrieges informieren.

The Stelvio Pass Road

The Stelvio Pass Road twists and turns in tight serpentines and more than 48 hairpin bends before reaching Stelvio Pass at a lofty height of 2,757 meters. It connects Spondigna/Spondinig in Venosta Valley with Bormio in Lombardy and is the highest mountain pass in Italy. Its planning and construction – which was begun in 1820 under Kaiser Franz Joseph and completed in 1926 with only six years’ construction – is regarded as a pioneering achievement in the area of mountain road building.

The Ortles-Cevedale chain almost entirely encompasses the Stelvio National Park. The range is about 50 km long and 40 wide. The area borders to the south with Val Venosta and extends along Val Martello all the way to Passo Tonale in Trentino. Mount Ortles (3,905 m a.s.l.) is the group's highest peak and is located in South-Tyrol. It features three main peaks, including Conston di Dentro, theatre of a very famous and popular mountain climbing route. Other imposing peaks are Cevedale, Gran Zebrù, Palon del Mare and Vioz. The Ortles-Cevedale group, together with the Adamello-Presanella, is one of the richest in glaciers throughout the Alps. Land's various conformations, different peaks' elevations, a varied range of facing slopes, all this has brought in a large number of Alpine glaciers, precisely 19, covering an overall surface area of 1,444 hectares. Two of them, the Careser hanging glacier and the Mare glacier - despite their significant receding - cover a surface area of 472 and of 370 hectares, respectively.

Die Küche bietet traditionelle norditalienische Gerichte mit lokalen Produkten. Das Rifugio ist ein beliebter Ausgangspunkt für Mountainbike- und Trekkingtouren zu den Gardaseebergen. 

Bocca Saval

Auf der Passhöhe bei Bocca Saval finden sich heute noch Überreste militärischer Anlagen und Gebäude aus dem Ersten Weltkrieg, als hier die Frontgrenze verlief. Über den Pass verläuft der Höhenweg Sentiero della Pace, der in Südtirol und Norditalien viele Kriegsschauplätze aus dem Ersten Weltkrieg miteinander verbindet.

Food & Drink Ponale Alto Belvedere

Das Restaurant liegt an der Strada del Ponale, die der reiche Kaufmann Giacomo Cis Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts erbauen ließ, um eine Verbindung ins Ledrotal zu schaffen. Im März 1900 eröffnete hier die erste Gaststätte, sie war jedoch lange Zeit geschlossen und das Haus verfiel zunehmend, bis es im Jahre 2014 komplett saniert und wiedereröffnet wurde.

Kriegsstellungen

Auf dem Weg zum Gipfel der Cima Capi finden wir eine groß angelegte Kriegsstellung, die von 1914 bis 1918 zur Verteidigung der umkämpften Gardaseeregion diente.

Cima Capi (909 m)

Die Cima Capi ist eine Erhebung am Westufer des Gardasees. Zu ihrem Gipfel führt der Klettersteig Sentiero Fausto Susatti, sie kann aber auch über einen Wanderweg erreicht werden.

Chiesa Santa Barbara

Die Kapelle Santa Barbara schmiegt sich an die Fesenwand oberhalb von Riva del Garda. Sie wäre von unten kaum sichtbar, wäre sie nichts nachts beleuchtet. Dadurch erscheint sich in der Dunkelheit wunderschön und zum Greifen nah und jeder, der in der Dunkelheit vor einem der vielen Restaurants auf der Terasse gesessen hat, kennt die kleine Kapelle. Sie wurde von den Arbeitern erbaut, die die Tunnel- und Rohrleitungsbauwerke für das Wasserkraftwerk von Riva del Garda errichteten, das mit dem Wasser des Ledrosee betrieben wird. Die Kirche diente der täglichen Andacht der Arbeiter, deren Quartier sich hoch oben an den steilen Felswänden des Monte Englo Massivs befand.

Rifugio Passo Pertica

The Rifugio Passo Pertica is at 1,530 metres above sea level in the Carega Group, where the roads running up from Trentino and the Veneto meet. It was built by the Cappelletti family in 1964 by the side of the military road that runs up from the Rifugio Revolto and continues towards the Rifugio Pompeo Scalorbi. People come up here to enjoy the unspoilt environment of the Campobrun nature reserve and to explore the Carega Group - in winter, too, when the refuge is open on weekends. Das Rifugio Scalorbi liegt hoch über dem Val d'Agno inmitten der Caregagruppe. Es ist von Mitte Juni bis Mitte September täglich geöffnet im Mai und Oktober an Wochenenden und hat Übernachtungsmöglichkeit für 25 Personen. Außerdem werden regionale Speisen angeboten. In der kleinen Kapelle werden im Juli und August Messen gefeiert.

Cima Palon (2232 m)

Die Cima Palon – auch Monte Pasubio genannt – ist mit seinen 2232 m der höchste Berg des Pasubiomassivs. Zusammen mit der Spitze Cogolo Alto stellen die beiden Berge den Beginn der Pasubiogruppe dar. Charakteristisch für die Cima Palon ist die runde Form des Gipfels. Von hier kann man einen herrlichen Blick auf die östlichen Alpen genießen – von den Brentadolimiten bis zu den Pale di san Martino.

Trincee di Monte Maggio

Sistema di trincee risalenti al primo grande conflitto mondiale (1914-1918), sulla sommità del monte Maggio. il 19 - 20 maggio 1916 furono teatro dei furiosi assalti dei Kaiserjaeger austriaci nel corso delle prime fasi dell'Offensiva di primavera (Strafexpedition). Il luogo è contrassegnato da una grande croce metallica e offre un emozionante panorama sul contrapposto massiccio del Pasubio e sulle vallate veneto-vicentine. E' punto simbolico del Sentiero della Pace.
