Itinerary description
The hike follows a mountain bike trail overlooking the Berg River Dam. You walk from the gate of the conservancy, follow the dirt road, cross a bridge over the river and, follow a concreted jeep track until you reach a junction. Turn right, and follow the road until you reach a point where a single track branches to the left. Follow this path until the path ends. You need to turn around and walk back the way you came. You could follow a jeep track down to the dam itself if you want as an alternative. Eagles can be seen circling if you are lucky and the geology is interesting. Be on the lookout for cyclists. The hike is around 19km in total. Permits are required.
