Itinerary description

The out and back trail head has signage and a small parking area for 4 or 5 vehicles. Trail crosses a small levee adjacent to a 3 pump canal pumping station. The trail is wide enough to walk two or three abreast and was well maintained. Grass was well cut and no significant debris. Follows a canal originally dredged for harvesting timer then later used for oilfield drilling. The spoil bank has remnants of oyster shells as a road base for equipment movement. Was pleasantly surprised by the sighting of an adult blad eagle.
