Itinerary description
Fort Hermann roundtrip
Don’t be fooled by the length of the walk, the app glitches when entering a tunnel or cave… see the spikes?! I think it’s about 10km in total)
Start at Kluze and take the road up (through the caves also used to defend the bridge and entry to the valley)
Its a nice and easy strawl up to Fort Hermann. Once there you can enter the ruïnes at your own risk… it’s safe to explore the fort if you’re carefull though ;-))
When leaving the Fort, take the path up… its long and steep, but the views at the top (of the path) are magnificent!
When you crossed the second stone area (it’s the one where the avalange was in the winter of 2020) you can follow the path straight (to Bovec) but when you want to go back to your car, take a left and follow the trail to the farmhouse… then you have to pay attention, from there the path is hardly visible (I think the cows ruined it ;-)) but keep heading left and down, until you come to a concrete road… keep following this to the chapel (picture) take a look inside, refresh yourself at the spring and take a leisure walk back to the car.
