Itinerary description
One of 20+ interconnected walks forming ‘Footsteps in the Forest’ see Lysos Trekkers Group. Please note while these routes are beautiful, these are not casual strolls and are in a wild forest area.There is strict NO SMOKING rule in the forest as a fire risk, the is NO DOGWALKING permitted by the Forest department. There are no barriers and steep drops plus some loose surfaces. Snakes can be encountered as well as other flora and fauna. Take good boots, a sunhat and plenty of water hiking poles recommended. This walk can form part of a fantastic 18.5Km figure of 8 walk if joined to Forest Fords. It starts from the vicinity of Kopes sign at the edge of the forest follow the signs for the Paradisos Hills hotel and take the Stavros road from Lysos. This walk has two steeper sections at the end. The route is given as the crossroads junction accesses Wild Olive Trail, Forest Fords and St Merkourious Trails.
