Walk through the Tamar Glacier Valley, one of the most picturesque in the area. We are heading to the village of Ratece in the municipality of Kranjska Gora, located in the north-west of Slovenia bordering Austria and Italy. Here is the Planica Nordic Centre, home to the most impressive ski jumping slopes in Slovenia, it is the only Nordic center in the world with eight ski jumping slopes. Every year it hosts a stage of the Alpine Skiing World Cup.
We are in the heart of Triglav National Park. We leave the spectacular ski jumps on our right and head south, looking for the path that comes out on the right and the middle of the forest takes us to the refuge. On the left, there is a track that goes to the same place, but we prefer to go back and forth through the middle of the forest to benefit from the shade of the trees. Although we are surrounded by very high mountains, the route is quite flat. We arrive at the refuge, located on a wide grassy esplanade, the Vall de Tamar. Near the shelter is the hermitage of Maria Auxiliadora de Tamarje. It seems that in the past there was a sheep's cheese factory, here they gathered the sheep to be milked.
Let's take the opportunity to spend some time relaxing lying on deckchairs and surrounded by this magnificent natural spectacle. We continue the route making the difference in level of the day, we go up a rather steep path towards the Nadiza spring. The path goes up the Nadiza river which descends with beautiful waterfalls. To get to the birth we have to climb a little by a pass equipped with a cable. Crystalline and fresh water gushes from the bowels of the rock, the place is fantastic with formidable panoramas. We return the same way
