Itinerary description

The walk begins at Flinders Plum day use area (managed by Ipswich Council) and starts off on a bitumen path before relenting to gravel. The gradient of the whole trail to the peak is actually not that steep though care should be taken at some points (particularly on descent) due to loose gravel on the trail. Make sure you stop at at least some if not all the many viewpoints that you come to on the walk to the peak. Upon reaching the ridgetop the walk becomes more of an easy scramble over lumpy volcanic rocks. There are one or two sections just before the final climb to the peak that can be easily climbed/ scrambled up (or walked around if you are not feeling confident). The final ascent is straight forwards and excellent views are afforded in all directions from the top. Retrace your steps upon return.

This is a really nice walk, the terrain is interesting and the views excellent. The only dissapointing thing is that there are no nearby waterholes if you walk up on a hot day!
