Itinerary description
Walking from Fira to Oia with amazing landscapes. The trail is very easy to follow, it takes between 3 to 4 hours depending on the time you stop in the sites you find on the way. It's a good time to start between 2 or 3 pm so you can be in Oia for sunset.
The total distance is about 11 to 12 km (my GPS failed for a while and recorded it like 17 km).
Wear proper shoes because the terrain is full of small vulcano rocks which are very slippery. Bring enough water, sunglasses and a cap. The sun can be very hot and there's no shadows or trees to rest.
To go back from Oia to Fira I recommend to take the bus in the center of the town.
