Itinerary description
This is not a route for the faint-hearted - there are a lot of steep ascents and descents, and some vertiginous sections - although there are ropes and ladders to assist you. Part of the route follows a new section of the GR249.6
The route needs some tweaking needed due to 2 wrong turns - but it's fairly easy to see on the wikiloc track where you need to go to avoid my "diversions" (ie where I went wrong). Diversion 1: On the north side of the arroyo Carboneras, go right and uphill (we went steeply downhill to the left). This is marked with waypoints on this wiki track. Diversion 2: On the south side of the arroyo, about 1.2 kms past the Platero rock waypoint you will see a huge rock in front of you. Go left and downhill on the rocky corner BEFORE the huge rock on a small footpath and negotiate one overgrown section to pick up a very good path which leads you down to a river crossing. It was raining from the Platero rock section so I didn't take any photos for waypoints, sorry.
Note: the time says 2.5 hours moving time and total time 4 hours. We did not rest for 1.5 hours! I suspect this is a glitch with Wikiloc not recording "moving" when we were negotiating some of the tricky rocky sections and I was waiting for the person in front, or taking care not to slip. Without the "diversions" and on a dry day I would say it would be 3 to 3.5 hours.
